Times are difficult, news are really bad at the moment and I feel like lightning up a little my mood and yours, faithful reader. Why not think of the holidays’ season – coming up in about two months and a half and reminding ourselves that, in between, we’ll celebrate Halloween with the kids and Thanksgiving with family and friends? Let’s think party and happiness before the weekend!
How did I get in that cheerful mood? It happened when I discovered a very cute site winechristmas.com launched by a Texas winery, Su Vino. I knew there were wineries in Texas but I never imagined that a winery would get in the business of Christmas decorations!
Su Vino (Your wine in Italian and Spanish) is located in Grapevine, Texas (you don’t invent such a location!) and makes about 12 wines, from Syrah to Malbec, from Italian blends to Zinfandel and sweet dessert wines. The winery has a very cute logo, an open hand representing “the skill and dedication of the craftsman, the uniqueness of the individual, and the friendliness of an open palm.” The winery site is easy to navigate, user friendly and full of imagination.
But I was mostly attracted to the winechristmas site. It’s dedicated to Christmas objects related to wine and martini. The owners of Su Vino, David and Shari Scott, explained their business in their PR: “We’ve carried wine themed Christmas gift items in our tasting room for several years now and they have been very popular, so we wanted to take it to the next level. With this website, we can offer a broader selection of gifts and we can even carry items with martini, cocktail, and beer themes that may not fit with the theme of the winery,” said David Scott. “We carry everything from traditional Tuscan vineyard style Christmas ornaments to drinking reindeer wine stoppers and everything in between. We also have some fun and whimsical ornaments that we had created exclusively for Wine Christmas,” stated Scott.
