15 women wine makers from Napa Valley are the guests of the Bordeaux women wine makers for a week. Last year, in January, 15 Bordeaux women wine makers were the guests of their American counterparts in Napa. The purpose of those trips are, for each group, to get a better understanding and knowledge of their grape growing, wine making and marketing strategy.

French and American women gathered this morning at the CIVB (the official Bordeaux wine body) to listen to 3 presentations. Wendy Narby, one of the best wine Bordeaux experts, presented an outstanding history, geography and study of the Bordeaux wines. After Anne Cusson, Marketing Director of Vinexpo, explained why wine makers should be part of the event, Paz Espejo, enologist and technical director of the Cordier wine merchants house, went through a well organized lecture on the commercial organization of the Bordeaux wines.

The busy morning ended up with a light lunch offered by the Medocaines Group, a group of four chateaux owners in the Medoc.
