“Without change, there can be no progress”. This preliminary statement lead to the creation of the Wine Innovation Awards 2009 organized by The Drinks Business Magazine. This competition aims at recognizing and rewarding the creative in wine. It is open to any winemaker across the world, involved in the process of change.
Launched by Charlotte Hay, publisher of The Drinks Business, the Wine Innovation Awards has recruited the most prestigious professionals of the wine industry to judge the candidates: Jancis Robinson, Fiona Morrisson, and many others are part of the jury.
This British initiative comforts the message I try to convey in my book as well as in this blog: innovation is the key word for the wine industry. It is the only way for a winery or a producer to keep ahead of the competition and be a success.
