Wine blogs in France?

Wine blogging is a strong trend among wine producers and wine drinkers in France. It is so trendy that there is now a “Wine Blog Trophy” organized in the Loire valley dring the wine fair of the local wines. The trophy was launched in 2007 to award the best wine blog in French and on French wines.

In 2009, the Loire Wine fair awarded three categories:

  • the Best Wine Blog by a journalist to Jim Budd for Jimsloire.blogspot.com: weirdly enough, Jim’s blog is in English!
  • the Best Wine Blog by a wine professional to Julien Pichoff and Damien Bonnabel for findawine.com/blog
  • the Best Wine Blog by a vintner to Ackerman, a Negotiant of the Loire Valley, for its xnoir.fr blog.

As a lot of other French wine publications, those blogs are centered on the French wine industry and very rarely touch other subjects. Such as, they are a good key to the world of French wines.

I realize I am a little late with commenting, but I think it is a great idea to give out awards for bloggers of wine.

Cheers to them,

Thanks,
matt
