Pink is wonderful, in moderation. Subtle. I love to be feminine but I don't want it thrust on me either.
As far as men in the U.S. feeling reluctant to hold a glass of wine, I think this is a bit overstated. Let the men get past 23 and much of that begins to go away. Even they know that Miller Lite is tired.
